About this project
Konza Technopolis is Kenya's flagship technology city, and its horizontal infrastructure package carries the load for everything built on top of it. Strobell Africa was engaged to run independent materials quality assurance across the roads, drainage and structural works packages, reporting directly to the development authority rather than to the contractor.
Our laboratory processed cube, aggregate and soil samples on a continuous rolling schedule, with results issued as QR-verifiable digital certificates the same day the specimens were crushed. That turnaround is the point: it lets the resident engineer release a pour or reject a batch while the crew is still on site, instead of learning about a shortfall three weeks later.
Alongside the testing programme our project management team maintained the site quality register, chaired the weekly technical coordination meeting, and issued the monthly progress and non-conformance reporting pack used by the authority in its own board reporting.
