About this project
Building inside a live mining operation means the plant does not stop for you. Strobell Africa held a standing framework with Base Titanium covering foundation inspection, mix design assessment and routine materials testing across the process plant and its supporting infrastructure.
Heavy plant foundations carry dynamic loading that ordinary structural concrete is not specified for. We assessed and re-specified the mix designs for the crusher and mill bases, then verified every pour against the revised specification — including early-age strength gain, so the mechanical team could set anchors to a tested date rather than a nominal 28-day assumption.
The framework ran for four years across successive capital projects, with the laboratory holding the historical mix performance data that made each subsequent specification faster to settle.
